Endures noise levels from moderate to extremely noisy (75%). Spends up to 100% of time in an outdoor shipyard environment in all climates and shifts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, chemical vapors and smoke. Daily inspections require climbing ladders, working at heights, walking on scaffolding, entering confined spaces, and observing workers using tools and equipment. Requires extended period of standing and walking (75%). Must be able to climb on and around ships and walk to other yard areas.

Has completed appropriate trade certificate programs.

Has in depth knowledge of trade operations.
